Hey! I love your art! I had a question! My style of illustration is very different from yours so idk if u can help: but I have so much trouble drawing guys. Like I cannot draw a guy pretty much only girls. I was wondering if you could give me pointers at all? Thanks :3

this might sound confusing- but i guess you just have to unlearn what you see as a ‘girls’ face and a ‘guy’ face? instead try capturing what features stand out- a prominent nose or thicker eyebrows, and the face you want to capture should emerge naturally? imagine the face as genderless!! focus on character instead! don’t put so much pressure on yourself!  :)

i used to have trouble with it too, so i hope that helps?!!?

“In the forties and fifties, it was easier to appreciate solitude than it is today. Hopper painted public places, rooms where people gathered, but usually with a few people or nobody in the rooms. Few people in those days went to museums during the week, and the galleries might be vacant. You could stand before a painting for long minutes and not hear voices. There was silence in those days. It was associated with solitude, sacredness, internal life.”—Leonard Michaels, The Nothing That Isn’t There (via new–tomorrows)
